Just over 2 weeks ago, I had a moment in my life that changed everything. It changed my life and nearly those around me. It will stay with me forever. One day, when I’m feeling stronger, I’ll be ready to write about it. That time is still a long way from now.
But what has come from it, is that no one is immune to mental illness. Anyone at anytime can succumb to the cruel and debilitating ways that it robs you of yourself. A cold stark reminder of this is the other people I have met so far on my path back to everyday life. Normal people, going through something that will change their life forever . Nurses, soldiers, teachers, housewives, fathers, sisters. Humans. Never judging, never comparing. These are just some of the others that walk that path with me side by side. We are all there for each other where we can be. Because some days, you need another shadow when you’re scared of your own. And when it’s scary, it’s terrifying.
